Tesla CEO Elon Musk isn’t quite giving up his idea of bringing Tesla to the Indian market. In a recent twitter post, he had mentioned that that company would venture into India by this year or by the next, this comes ten months after Musk blames the restrictive policy for car makers in India.
Tesla had recently set up a 5 billion $ dollar factory in China which marked its first car manufacturing plant outside the US after 4 years of planning.
India has always been a good market for the car manufactures where many big companies such as Hyundai and Honda have established a firm market here over the years. However, in comparison with China, it lags behind due to lack of government support and insufficient funds for gas stations. With a similar population in comparison with China, India has a mere of 425 charging points by the end of 2017 but is expected to rise to 2022.
