The artiste has been bestowed with the award for her contribution to Mohiniyattam
Dr. Methil Devika’s contributions to Mohiniyattam has once again been recognised and this time the Kshetrakala academy has bestowed the artiste with the Kshetrakalasree State Award. The graceful artiste took to social media to share her joy and excitement.
Dr. Methil Devika’s popular dance documentary Sarpatatvam, based on the ancient wisdom of serpents, a fruit of her research, was a contender for the Oscars earlier. She holds gold medals for both MBA and her Masters in Dance (Kuchipudi) and has also received a doctorate in dance. She has received many prestigious awards like the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, the Devadasi National Award and the Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademy Award.
