The Rotary Club of Madras East, one of the premium Clubs in Chennai, presented the Young Achiever Award to two talented Children: Yamini Prashant for Literature and Yash Aradhya for Motor Sport.
The Chief Guest was Mr. Akbar Ebrahim, leading formula 1 trainer in India and the Guest of Honour was District Governor Rtn. C R Raju, R I District 3230. Rtn. Jayanthi Govindan, President and Rtn. Babu Krishnamoorthy, Secretary, RCM East were present.
Yamini Prashant
Yamini Prashanth is a 14 year old author of “Mishti”, a children’s novella written when she was 11 years old and her second book, “Best of Granny’s stories”, launched on 5th September, 2014 is a collection of 20 stories meant for 6-8 year old kids and has been published by Tinytot Publication. Yamini’s third book titled, “UMA- not so perfect”, a young adult fiction is soon going to be published by Mango DC books. She is currently working on a book of poems.
Yamini is also one of the youngest TEDx speakers of India. She spoke at TEDXEMWS at the Ecole Mondiale world School in Mumbai, February 2014.
Yamini is fluent in Odissi dance and has given many stage performances. She has been learning carnatic vocal music for the past 5 years. She attends basketball coaching as well. Yamini is a student of ninth grade in Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Mylapore. She was also one of the top 150 academically talented and gifted children chosen by the Duke University, U.S.A, for their talent identification program in India.
Yash Aradhya
The 13-year-old Bangalore boy Yash Aradhya, studying in class VII at the Bishop Cottons Boys School Bangalore, trained and mentored by the Legendary Racer Akbar Ebrahim and fitness coach Ramji Srinivasan of Chennai, has been pursuing his dream of becoming a Formula-1 racer. From the year of his debut in 2012, he has kept his winning spree and has 5 Championship wins, 15 race wins and 5 Awards in a span of 4 years of his career.
Yash started his Karting career at the age of 9 under the micromax category (age 7-13) and has been winning from his debut year. In 2014 Yash made a big impression at the JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship India 2014 and the Rotax Max Asia Series 2014 by winning most of the accolades.

The Young Achiever Award by RCM East
The young achiever award was initiated in the year 2011. This award is given annually to promising youngsters from categories of sports, education, technology, social works, literature etc.
