Shalini Talwar, the wife of Bollywood singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has filed a case of domestic violence against him under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. The Delhi Tis Hazari Court has issued notice to the singer and asked for his response.
Shalini has also included his parents in the case and she is seeking protection orders and relief against the atrocities committed by the respondents.
According to her complaint, she has faced numerous instances of all kinds of abuse- physical, mental, emotional and verbal.
Shalini alleged that the abuse started after his career took off and he became rude, brash, aggressive and disrespectful towards her. She also alleged that he went to extreme lengths to hide the fact that he was married. cheated on her and even got addicted to drinks and drugs.
Their relationship began in 2001 and the couple got married in 2011 after 10 long years of courtship. Shalini has stated that the abuse started in 2011 itself when they were on their honeymoon in Mauritius.
