Elon Musk has become the world’s richest man with a net worth of around $190 billion. This took place after a jump in Tesla’s share price. He has now overtaken Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos who held the top spot since 2017. A report in Bloomberg says that over the past one year, the net worth of Musk has soared by more than $ 150 billion and is possibly the fastest in history. The share price of Tesla surged 743 % last year due to consistent profits. It has also been included in the S&P 500 Index and has generated a lot of enthusiasm from both Wall Street and investors. Amazon’s share price on the other hand has been relatively stagnant in recent months. However at $1.6 trillion, Amazon’s market capitalisation is far higher than Tesla’s $760 billion.
The 49 year old Elon Musk has benefitted from Tesla’s strategic rise in many ways. He tweeted ” How Strange” when he heard the news that he became the richest person on the planet. He followed this with another tweet saying ”Well, back to work…”
