At the Golden Globes night on Sunday, Hollywood spoke in unison to declare war on the film industry’s culture of sexual harassment and abuse. The awards podium played second fiddle to the clarion call from stars to move forward. Oprah Winfrey accepted a lifetime achievement award and said that “Speaking the truth is the most powerful weapon we all have.”
The best musical award went to Lady Bird and Saoirse Ronan won the title for best actress in a musical. Leading the pack was Three billboards a film about a mother who battles local authorities to solve her daughter’s murder. It picked up trophies for best drama and best screenplay.
