A new study found that women led movies performed better than those in which men got top billing. The study analysed 350 top grossing films released world wide between January 2014 and December 2017.
Films with a woman listed as the lead star be it small, medium or large budget films, averaged better global grosses. Women comprise half of the box office and there has been a general wrong assumption that female led films were less successful. The test was conducted by the Talent Agency, Creative Artists Agency and the Tech Company Shift 7.
