Two women were arrested by the Aminijikarai police for manufacturing fake currency notes. They confessed that they learned the technique from YouTube They procured a colour photocopying machine and papers with specifications as suggested in the channel.
They then photocopied notes in the denominations of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 and circulated the fake notes in the market. The police seized the fake notes as well as the photo copying machine from their premises in Kolathur. They were caught red handed after one of them used a counterfeit note at a medical shop while buying medicines. The shopkeeper got suspicious about the genuineness of the note and with the help of the other staff, caught the two women and handed them over to the police.
