A 26 year old woman was found murdered at her home in Jnana Jyothi Nagar in Bengaluru. Her body was discovered by her brother-in-law who returned from work on Saturday evening. He immediately called the neighbours. The woman’s throat was slit and the knife used was in her right hand. However, the police suspect it to be a case of murder and not suicide. They felt that the knife was placed in her hand to give false leads that it was a case of suicide.
According to the police, the murder seemed to be committed for personal reasons as no valuables were stolen. The jewels on the woman’s body remained intact and the money and valuables at her home too were intact. The police are probing into the angle of murder for personal gain.
Deputy Commissioner (West Division) Bengaluru City Police, Sanjeev M Patil said that a person was being questioned based on suspicion and that more details will be revealed after the inquiry or after the postmortem examination is done. He also stated that they have taken a complaint lodged by the husband of the deceased woman on file.
