The world Health Organization has acknowledged emerging evidence of the airborne spread of the novel coronavirus. This is a significant diversion from their earlier claim that it spread only through coughs and sneezes. As of now people are asked to wash hands frequently, to wear masks and to follow social distancing.
According to a report in the New York Times, clusters of infections are rising globally as people go to bars, restaurants, markets and offices. Health workers may require N95 masks when they care for patients infected with the virus and people may be required to wear masks even indoors. The chief scientist of WHO, Soumya Swaminathan said that the agency staff members are trying to evaluate new scientific evidence as fast as possible without sacrificing on the quality of the review.
