The Madurai bench of Madras High Court has ordered the Tamilnadu State Government and the Police to pay compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the Pollachi sex scam victim for violating her privacy, dignity and image. The court said that the victims name had been revealed by the Coimbatore police and later by the State Home Secretary. This had caused great damage to the victim and she should be compensated.
Meanwhile two advocates filed a petition in the Supreme Court for a court monitored probe conducted by the CBI into the Pollachi sex scandal where hundreds of girls are allegedly involved. They also wanted the trial to be shifted outside Tamilnadu as they suspect wider network that is operated on a regular basis by politically connected men.
