Before joining politics she had an active career in journalism for close to 16 years
Pinarayi Vijayan will begin his second term as Chief Minister along with twenty one ministers in his cabinet. The new team of cabinet ministers are set to take oath on 20th May 2021 at Thiruvananthapuram. Though it has not been confirmed as to who is in charge of which ministry, there have been unofficial reports that Veena George is being considered to handle the health ministry which was previously handled by K K Shailaja. Though many raised protests against dropping the Rockstar Health Minister, K K Shailaja who efficiently guided Kerala through Nipah and Corona, the LDF Government is keen on having new faces in the cabinet and is clear that no exemptions are to be made.
Veena George won from the Aranmula constituency in Pathanamthitta and is a rank holder in MSc Physics and BEd. She worked as a journalist in leading news channels before joining active politics. Apart from her, two other lady ministers would also be a part of the new cabinet, Ms. Chinchu Rani and Prof. R Bindu.
