A US Navy helicopter crashed into the sea off the coast of California. Search and rescue operations are underway according to the US Pacific fleet.
The MH-60S helicopter took off from the USS Abraham Lincoln during routine flight operations about 60 nautical miles off the coast of San Diego at around 4.30 pm (2330 GMT) , the fleet said on Twitter.
It is not clear as to how many people were on board. Search and rescue operations are going on with multiple Coast Guard, Navy, Air and surface assets.
So far one crew member was rescued and the search is going on to trace the others. The condition of the rescued crew member has not been disclosed.
