A court in Los Angeles terminated the controversial guardianship of pop star Britney Spears. This ruling was greeted with cheers and confetti by fans of Britney who were outside the courthouse.
Britney herself exclaimed ”Best day ever…praise the Lord…can I get an Amen”. She posted this on Instagram with the hashtag #FreedBritney.”
This marks the end of the guardianship of her father Jamie Spears and he has been removed from his position of being in charge of her finances and estate.
Judge Brenda Penny passed the order. It ended the guardianship that began in 2007. Judge Penny agreed to Britney’s request to end the arrangement without getting a mental evaluation.
Britney will now be able to marry her fiance Sam Asghari. She has two children with former husband Kevin Federline. Her estate is estimated to be worth $60 million.
