UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be visiting India on April 21st. The 2 day trip will focus on strengthening bilateral ties between India and the UK. It will also focus on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Indo-Pacific, defence and security issues.
The visit of Boris Johnson was cancelled twice in the past due to the pandemic. He was supposed to attend the Republic Day Parade in January and in April last year but the visits had to be cancelled.
There was a virtual summit held between the UK and India in May last year. Narendra Modi and Boris Johnson adopted a 10 year roadmap to expand ties in key areas of trade, defence and security, climate change and people-to-people connections. The India-UK relationship was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the summit.
