Indian-origin UK Prime Minister candidate Rishi Sunak visited the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple, the UK headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) along with his wife Akshata Murthy on the festival of Janmashtami. It is a popular Hindu festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Krishna.
Rishi Sunak is currently trailing behind his rival Liz Truss, the Foreign Secretary. Liz Truss has topped the polls and has a 32 percentage point lead over Sunak according to a survey. While Liz was at 66 percent, Sunak was at 34 percent.
The governing Conservative Party will vote by postal ballot to choose a new party leader to replace Boris Johnson who is stepping down after being involved in many scandals. The UK will have a new Prime Minister by September 5th.
