British PM Boris Johnson arrived in Ahmedabad this morning for a two day visit. He was received by State Governor Acharya Devvrat and the Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
The Mayor of Ahmedabad, District Collector and the Ahmedabad city police commissioner were also present at the airport. PM Johnson will spend the full day in Gujarat and will leave for Delhi after dinner. The agenda for discussion will be regarding free trade, the energy sector and defence. They will also discuss job creation and economic growth. The main aim of his visit is said to be to deepen the long-term partnership between India and the UK.
According to the UK PM, India is the world’s largest democracy and a major economic power as well and is therefore a strategic partner for the UK .He will have in-depth talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on the 22nd of April.
