Two women in their early forties entered Sabarimala temple under police cover. The women Bindu from Kozhikode and Kanakadurga from Malappuram reached the foothills early on Wednesday morning and were escorted by plainclothes policemen.
They had a darshan as well. After their visit, the Chief Priest Kandaru Rajeevararu closed the sanctum santorum to perform purification rites and the temple was reopened after an hour. The women were kept in safe custody after they visited the temple and were shifted to an undisclosed location. They attempted to enter the temple on December 24th but failed due to the protests by the Sangh Parivar and some devotees. This time they were successful. News about their visit was aired only after the duo left Pampa.
