The movie has become controversial with trolls demanding its boycott
Toofaan is Farhan Akthar’s latest project which will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from July 16th 2021. Directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and written by Anjum Rajabali, the film depicts the life of a boxer Aziz Ali who transforms from a henchman to a national level boxer. This is the second film that Farhan and Mehra are doing together after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
‘Toofaan’ has Paresh Rawal taking on the role of Nana Prabhu, his trainer and Mrunal Thakur playing the role of Ananya who is Aziz’s doctor and the partner. Trolls have been demanding the boycott of the movie saying that the movie promotes ‘Love Jihaad’ as it depicts the interfaith relationship between Aziz and Ananya. His earlier comments against the citizenship bill have also been brought up to add to the controversy. But fans have brushed all the controversies aside as they eagerly wait for the film’s release on July 16th.
