Train solely operated by women to ply between Moore Market and Tiruvallur

To commemorate International Women’s Day on Sunday, Chennai Division of Southern Railway has planned to launch an all women-run train between Moore Market Complex and Tiruvallur district.

The driver, guard, ticket collectors, security staff and sanitation staff will all be women. The train will depart from the Moore Market Complex at 9.15 a.m. and return from Tiruvallur at 10 50 a.m. The train is a two-way electrical multiple unit train. Many other organizations too will hold events to mark Women’s Day.
