David Tan, a toy maker from the Philippines has struck upon a novel idea to help people who have lost their pets. He makes life-like replicas of deceased pets of people.
Tan has a team of 20 employees who use photos sent by customers to create life-like replicas of their deceased dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits etc by using synthetic fur that is airbrushed to recreate colours and markings of the pet animals.
These stuffed toys cost around 3,500 pesos which is US $65.
David Tan, owner of Pampanga Teddy Bear Factory said the process is different from taxidermy which preserves the body of the animal.
The factory is flooded with orders from grieving pet owners who wish to memorialise their pets with stuffed toys or plushies.
