The ubiquitous dim sums acquire interesting new flavours and shapes at The Travelling Dimsums Fest special menu at Shizusan in Bengaluru. In Cantonese, “dim sum” literally means “to touch your heart” and the culinary wizards from Shizusan are doing just that with this Travelling Dimsum festival. Indulge in 11 exquisite dim sums from across the Orient, including for the first time a dessert dim sum will win your hearts, just as it did ours. The delicate art of dim sum making and presentation comes alive as you tuck in these delicious parcels in all their glory. The menu also includes Baos, Money bags, Pot Sticklers, Wantons and Sui Mai. Each of them are oozing of subtle flavours with unique combinations such as Thai Chicken and Water chestnut Dim Sum with coconut curry; Vietnamese Special Spinach, Dates and Cashewnut Dumplings with nuts and mala oil; Japanese Seafood Sui Mai with tuna ceviche; Japanese Pan Fried Asparagus Rice Baozi with fragrant rice and veggies and Malaysian Tung Tong Peanut Moneybags filled with curried veggies in peanut sauce. Keeping in sync with the latest in food trends, we also give our votes for the Chinese Activated Charcoal and Crab Xiao Long Bao stuffed with steaming hot pho that resembles the symbol of yin-yang. It was worth waiting for the dessert dim sum that came in the form of Thai Green Apple Pie Moneybags with palm sugar and caramel sauce. This heavenly parcel of delight adds an element of innovation and leaves a lingering and pleasantly sweet aftertaste.
