The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru, a recently launched property of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts organised their first Cake Mixing ceremony based on a unique theme. A Red-carpet entry with golden bollards and a life-size signage ‘007 – Welcome Agents’, awaited guests at this very special event. The ceremony was based on the popular thriller movie series James Bond. A team of 20 chefs, sous chefs, and servers marched in elegantly holding the red and black The Leela Bhartiya City flag held high, making a dramatic entrance to the title music from the movie with General Manager Reuben Kataria walking ahead as the lead from Ian Fleming’s novels.
The event took place in an alfresco setting of their all-day diner Quattro. The venue was done up in the theme colours of Black, White, and Red. Life-size cutouts of James Bond and Playing Cards, props like a replica of the Walther PPK pistol were available for the guests to take photos with. From charcoal-activated black burgers and baos and deep Red vermouth rosso in chilled martini glasses, the food was designed meticulously to match the theme colours of the evening.
From fresh fruits like plums, apples, grapes to dry fruits ranging from Tutti-frutti, Redcurrant, Dry apricots, Pistachios to Murabba, Cherries, Dates, and Ginger chips, there were about 300 kilos of Dry fruits and 75 liters of Alcohol used to create that perfect, moist, delicate Christmas cake that guests wait all year for.
