The 30 royals who may attend funeral of Prince Philip

The funeral of Prince Philip will be a small event attended by around 30 people in accordance with the pandemic regulations. It will include only the royal family members, political figures and foreign dignitaries. The royals who are likely to attend include Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and his wife Kate, Prince Harry, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, The Phillips family, The Tindall family, The Viscount Linley, Lady Sarah, Daniel Chatto, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke and Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lady Pamela Hicks and Brigadier Archie Miller-Bakewell.


The Queen has been widowed at the age of 94 after losing her husband of more than 70 years. They were married in 1947 in Westminster Abbey shortly after the Second World War. The couple has four children, eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The Queen called Prince Philip her “strength and stay” as he was a pillar of support to her throughout her reign. He was the longest serving consort. The Queen will lead the family in mourning and she will remain in mourning for about 22 days after the funeral. There will be an 8 day period where no parliamentary bills will be given royal assent.
