Expat chef Jed A. Ursal delights Chennai foodies with his international culinary skills
Oriental Cuisines welcomes Chef Jed A. Ursal who joins Teppan as Expat chef with many years of experience in Japanese cuisine. Chef Jed is originally a Filipino who has significant interest in culinary treats and is well-known for his Teppanyaki & Sushipreparations.
He is a graduate from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Cebu City Philippines which also led the start to his career with Ginza Japanese Restaurant, Philippines in 2007. On this occasion, expat chef Jed has designed a unique menu for Chennai Foodies which comprises of authentic Japanese Soup, Starter, Soup, maki momo, teppanyaki dishes. Teppan is also celebrating International Sushi Day – 18th June with a special one on one offer on their Sushi rolls.
Chef Jed, had the privilege to work as Head chef in well-known restaurants like Wabi Sabi Japanese Restaurant, Cyprus and Unsei-Yaki Japanese Restaurant in South America apart during his career. At his current position with Oriental Cuisines Chef Jed brings his exclusive culinary skills with a new set of menu at Teppan. To mention a few from the menu, Chef Jed introduces, Kinoku to ebiage (Fried whole mushroom stuffed with shrimp served with tempura sauce), Sumoyaki (Chicken, salmon & shrimp skewered in bamboo stick with teriyaki sauce),Sakanayaki (Grilled fresh seabass with egg, onion and tomato with sweet chilly and lemon butter sauce), Masutado niku yaki (Seasoned beef and pineapple skewered in bamboo stick served with mastudo sauce), Soya milk jelly(Served with choice of ice cream), Banana tempura (Tempura fried banana and caramel sauce served with choice of ice cream) and many to add.
