Tennis Players become Chefs & Bartenders at Aircel Chennai Open 2016
Day 2 saw some exciting off-court action take place at the Aircel Chennai Open 2016 as we caught up with Roberto Bautista-Agut and Marcel Granollers’ coach participate in a mouth-watering cook-off session at the Hyatt Regency hotel, the official hotel of the event.
the theme was indian street food, the two were given all the ingredients that go into making the popular dishes like ‘bhel’ and ‘sev-puri chaat’ with chocolate lassi to finish it off!
With a quick set of guidelines on what to do and how to assemble the dishes, Roberto won the cook-off challenge with aplomb clearly showing his mastery in kitchen as much as on the court! at the end of the cook-off, Bautista-Agut was seen savouring the delicacies he helped create … bon apetite we say!!
In another exciting off-court activity, the doubles pair Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Santiago Gonzalez got together to put together a lip-smacking array of cocktails behind the bar at the Hyatt Regency hotel. Ready to showcase their bar-tending and cocktail-mixing skills, the duo were put in two different teams … with a set of spirits, mixers and garnishes made available to them, the duo had all of 2 mins to put together a heady cocktail, each one ably cheered by his team-mate. with both players stirring up such a delight, it was difficult to choose any one winner, and both won themselves a bottle of champagne each. we say cheers to that!
