Milan Paul Kumar is a 10 year old British Indian from Bolton in Greater Manchester, northern England. He is an award winning fundraiser and he travelled to Poland with his parents to hand over books and stationery products that he collected in the UK to the Ukrainian children who were displaced due to Russia’s invasion.
Kumar’s visit was just ahead of the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He handed over coloured pencils, markers, colouring books and also donated gifts to a neighbouring public library so that the Polish and Ukrainian children could make use of them.
Kumar was invited to the Ukrainian Consulate and his humanitarian mission was backed by several organisations including the National Literacy Trust. Kumar washed vehicles and donated his pocket money to Ukrainian schools last year and received the Princess Diana Award in 2022 for his fundraising efforts.
