People of Dubba Tanda village in Telangana have dedicated a temple to Bollywood actor Sonu Sood to honour his exemplary philanthropic work during the peak of the Covid 19 pandemic. The temple has an idol of the actor and was inaugurated recently.
On hearing about the temple, Sonu took to Twitter to say that though he is humbled, he does not deserve it. He expressed that it was an ” extremely overwhelming” moment for him and stated that he was just a common man who reached out to help his brothers and sisters. It may be recalled that Sonu helped thousands of stranded migrant workers to reach their hometowns by arranging for their transportation. He also provided employment through an App named PravasiRojgar that digitally connected job providers with job seekers. He even opened the doors of his hotel in Juhu, Mumbai to healthcare workers of hospitals.
Sonu Sood also started the Shakthi Annadanam initiative to feed about 45000/ people stranded in Mumbai when the pandemic struck. He plans to pen down his thoughts and experiences in a book titled ‘I am no Messiah.’
