Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has assured the people of the State during his address on the first day of the Assembly session that the State government will protect the interests of all it’s citizens irrespective of their caste or creed.
He further added that the Central government would be requested to provide dual citizenship to Sri Lankan tamil refugees in the State. According to him, Tamilnadu is an inclusive society where Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, denotified communities, minorities and people with disabilities were safe and secure. He said that the 69 percent reservation for SCs, STs, BCs, OBCs, MBCs, Muslims and denotified communities would be followed. He urged the Centre to implement the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission and hoped that Tamilnadu would get a fair and equitable distribution of resources.
