The Tamilnadu government has extended the ongoing lockdown in the state till October 31 only with a few more relaxations. It has put in hold it’s earlier decision to permit students from classes 10 to 12 to attend classes from October 1st in order to get their doubts cleared from the teachers. This was met with stiff opposition from the parents. Therefore, based on the inputs from the district collectors, the medical team and the present situation, the government has decided to put its decision on hold.
The Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami held a virtual meeting with the district collectors to review the situation in the state. It was decided that all educational institutions will remain closed, suburban train services will remain suspended and all entertainment centers and museums will remain closed. Tea shops and restaurants can open from 6am to 9pm and takeaways will be permitted till 10 pm.
