Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor designate of Telangana will take oath of office at 11 a.m. on September 8. Her appointment letter was handed over to her in person at her residence by Vedantham Giri, the Resident Commissioner of the Telangana government.
An elated Tamilisai said that it was more of an honour bestowed on Tamilnadu and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party leaders Amit Shah and J.P.. Nadda for her appointment as Governor. She however disclosed that becoming a Governor was not in her wish-list. No decision has been made on who will take over as State BJP President. It is said that the party high command will decide about it shortly. Reports say that under the initiative led by Tamilisai, 44 lakh members have been added to the party as part of a nationwide drive.
