Tamilisai Soundararajan who was the BJP Tamilnadu unit President has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana. She stepped down from her party post in order to take up the Government post. Tamilisai a doctor by profession is thrilled with the appointment and she will be the first woman Governor of the nation’s youngest state.
In an interesting coincidence, the State of Telangana which was formed on June 2nd happens to be the birthday of Tamilisai. She was appointed as President of the Tamilnadu unit of the BJP in 2014. She chose to join the BJP despite being the daughter of Congress leader Kumari Anandan. Her father too was delighted with her appointment as Governor and expressed that it was a reward for her persistent hard work and dedication. Though fairly young to be a Governor, being just 58, she is no novice to administration.
