The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K. Palaniswami has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to confer the highest civilian honour ‘Bharat Ratna’ on late Jayalalitha and Dravidian leader C.N.Annadurai. He said that it would recognise their extraordinary public service and phenomenal achievements.
In the letter he hailed former Chief Minister Annadurai as a leader who was a great social reformer, writer, orator and a great Dravidian leader. He further requested the Centre to rename the Chennai Central railway station after ‘Puratchi Thalaivar’ Dr.M.G.Ramachandran in view of his birth anniversary celebrations.
