Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy who was burnt alive in her office on Monday was cremated. She leaves behind her husband and two children. Her driver who sustained injuries while trying to save her also died yesterday. Reports say that one Suresh visited the office in connection with a dispute regarding a 7 acre plot in Bacharam village and set her ablaze.
While the Tahsildar died on the spot, the accused sustained 60 % burn injuries and his condition is said to be critical. Meanwhile about 40,000/ employees of the Revenue Department in Telangana boycotted work for the second day to protest against the murder of their colleague Vijaya Reddy. They will be holding a meeting to decide the further course of action. They demanded compensation for the families of the deceased Tahsildar and the driver. They also made a demand that a job be provided for the wife of the driver.
