A 2 year old toddler, Sujith Wilson fell into an abandoned borewell in Nadukattupatti in Trichy district on Friday evening. Since then efforts have been made to rescue the boy. Both the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been trying all means to rescue the trapped child.
Prayers are being offered at temples, mosques and churches for Sujith to be saved. Fire and Emergency Services Department are drilling a shaft next to the borewell. A rig vehicle used by the ONGC to break rocks has been deployed. Villagers have gathered around the spot and are awaiting news from the rescue teams. Meanwhile the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights are seeking a report on the incident.
