The DMK has been voted to power in Tamil Nadu for the sixth time. DMK President MK Stalin thanked the people of the state for voting his party to power. He assured the people that he will be true to them and work for them and that his thoughts and actions would always be for the people of Tamil Nadu.
According to Stalin, the poll victory was a recognition of the good work done by his party for more than 50 years.Though he wished to bring back the rule of ‘Kazhagam’ when his father M. Karunanidhi was alive, it did not happen. He therefore toiled hard to fulfill his dream.
He also thanked all the cadres, functionaries and leaders of the alliance parties who stood by the DMK not as political allies but as ideological allies and even those who wished him for achieving victory.
This is the first time that the state went to the elections without the two towering political figures -M.Karunanidhi and J.Jayalalitha. The DMK has got back to power after a decade.
The swearing in ceremony of the new government would be a simple one due to the ongoing pandemic. The date and timing will be announced later.
