Spar hypermarket celebrates opening of 3rd store in chennai with a healthy cook-off challenge
SPAR Hypermarket, one of India’s fastest-growing retail chains, opened their 3 rd branch in Chennai at Marina Mall, OMR, on March 27 th 2019. The launch was celebrated with a cook- off demonstration featuring four participants, using only ingredients available at the hypermarket to make a selection of healthy dishes. SPAR India CEO and MD, Rajeev Krishnan, also spoke at the event and welcomed new customers to the SPAR experience.
SPAR Hypermarkets are known for the quality and diversity of their products, as well as their innovative and tech-forward interface, which includes features like self check-out kiosks. The stores have an appealing layout, with specially curated sections such as Grandma’s Corner (nostalgic products such as pickles), Wonder Years (children-products), Let’s Go Nuts, the Freshly juice counter and the extremely popular Fruit Mania and Farmers’ Market, which carry wide varieties of fresh produce.
SPAR India is a franchise of the Dutch retail chain SPAR International and is brought to India by Max Hypermarkets, part of the Landmark Group based in Dubai. The company is headquartered in Bangalore and operates 23 stores across 10 locations. SPAR Hypermarkets in India range in size from 30000 to 70000 sq. ft. (with over a million sq. ft. in total) and are designed innovatively, to make the shopping experience more intuitive and convenient for over 3 crore customers.
