3 members of one of India’s most respected film families attended the Southscope Lifestyle Awards on Sunday, where establishments like Spectra of Leela Palace, The Flying Elephant at Park Hyatt, Radisson Blu Temple Bay, Palam Silks, cosmetologist Dr Bhairravi Vivek, Surf Turf, Radio Room, Mahadevan of Oriental Cuisines, Latha Mohan of Oryza and many others received Awards. The ballroom of Feathers Hotel was jam-packed with the city’s movers and shakers. The serene Latha Rajinikanth, and her daughters Soundarya and Aishwarya made a gracious presence at the event, where Soundarya’s RITZ cover was unveiled by Arun Surendra of the 5000-crore VST Group, Pradeep Dadha of Netmeds, Deepthi Reddy of Tifara and Baashyaam Group and Rupam Dutta of Feathers Hotel, along with Aruna R Krishnan. Mahadevan was Awarded Hospitality Pioneer of the Decade. The jury panel was headed by eminent advocate and journalist Sanjay Pinto, who chaired an interactive session with jury members. Southscope is a sister publication of RITZ, South India’s largest lifestyle magazine.
Vijay Sethupathi who has had a dream run at the box office with back to back sueprhits, was crowned with the title of Most Bankable Young Star at the event. Southscope magazine unveiled his cover with the title, following his recent back to back superhits, his intelligent choice of films and roles and his enormous success in the film industry. The actor was literally mobbed by fans at the event and obliged everyone with selfies. In the same event, a very glamorous Southscope cover with actress Samantha was also unveiled. Samantha looked fabulous in a suit, styled by Neeraja Kona, and was presented the title of South India’s Most Admired Fashion Icon.
A star-studded fashion show featuring Raashi Khanna, Miss India finalist and actress Tanya Hope, Sanjana and showstopper Lakshmi Manchu in clothes from Tifara was very well received at the event. Deepthi Reddy, the owner of Tifara walked the ramp gracefully along with her showstoppers for the evening. Online portal that1too.com, owned by RITZ also debuted with a fashion show featuring famous Chennaiites Suman Voora, Darshana, Ramya, George Cherian, fitness expert Bharat Raj and others. Srigopika Radhakrishnan, Co-founder of That1too.com, looked gorgeous in a floor-length Merasal dress and coordinated accessories.
Other celebs at the event included Sriya Reddy and National-award winning costume designer Poornima Ramaswamy, Suma Harris, Pritha Hari, Parvathy Hein and many more. Ranjit Pratap spoke at the event and congratulated RITZ on the magazine’s success, while Sudha Sivakumar, Chairperson of FICCI FLO, Rotarian Prem Ganesh, fashionista Pavitra Sagar of Funky Fish were among those who presented awards at the ceremony.
Aruna wore a Christopher Kane dress and Dior shoes.
