Congress President Sonia Gandhi left for the United States along with her son Rahul for her routine medical checkup. Her checkup was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is reported that she will be away for about a fortnight and is expected to be back in the end of September. She will not be available to attend the monsoon session of Parliament. She cleared the organisational restructuring of the Congress party before her departure.
