Sonia calls for a meeting with non – NDA parties

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has called for a meeting with non NDA parties on the 23rd of May. This is seen as a bid to keep the BJP out of power. It is expected that the BJP will fall short of a majority and hence Sonia is taking necessary steps. She has invited leaders of secular parties like NCP leader Sharad Pawar, DMK leader M K Stalin, the RJD and the TMC for talks.

A team of four Congress leaders has been formed to coordinate and organize the meeting. The team comprises of senior Congress leaders viz Ahmed Patel, P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ashok Gehlot.  Their aim is to form a post-poll coalition of like minded parties.
