Former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dixit passed away due to cardiac arrest on Saturday evening. She was cremated yesterday with full State honours amidst heavy showers of rain. She was cremated at the CNG run crematorium as per her wish as it was eco friendly.
Rich tributes were paid to her by many leaders. UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Kamal Nath, Ashok Ghelot, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah paid their last respects to her. Sonia Gandhi said that her demise is a big loss to the Congress party and that she was like a friend and an elder sister to her. May her soul rest in peace.
