Sexual harassment has been made a crime and Saudi Arabia has passed a law to this effect. The Shura Council of the kingdom which advises the Cabinet passed a draft law which provides a prison term up to 5 years and a maximum penalty of 300,000 riyals.The said law has been approved by the Cabinet according to the Saudi Press Agency.
It is said to be a very important addition to the history of regulations in the kingdom. It also fills a legislative vacuum and will act as a deterrent. This move is a part of the liberalization drive launched by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
