In order to contain the spread of the Covid-19, the Tamilnadu Government has ordered the shut down of schools, colleges, malls, theatres, tourist resorts, tasmac bars, amusement parks, marriage halls, swimming pools and gymnasiums till the 31st March. The order will come into effect from today the 17th March. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has asked the health and civic authorities to take steps to disinfect railway stations, bus terminals and prominent public places.
People have been advised not to attend office if they have cough, cold or fever. Those who have symptoms of coronavirus have been asked to visit government hospitals to get themselves tested and treated. However the public exams for classes 10, 11 and 12 will be held as scheduled. Student hostels would also function to allow students to take up the exams.
