Travel today has become one of the choicest passions for the modern generation. Our daily lives have become so chaotic that everyone takes short breaks to keep their sanity intact.
Over the years people have spoken about how much one can learn by travelling and seeing other cultures alone, and these days parents have started to use that as an opportunity to bond with their kids and even fill their own basket of travelogues. The hectic city lives of working professionals and schedules of entire families, make the summer holidays of schools the most opportune time to spend time with one another and take that long desired holiday. Here’s a list of people who have recently come back from some fun getaways and share their experience. Here are their stories…

Kavya Bali, Businesswoman
Destination: Egypt
Duration: 12 days
With: Parents – Vijay Kumar and Vanaja Chowdary
Purpose: To see a new place with the parents.
Places covered: We covered a lot of places in 12 days including Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Sharm el Sheikh, and Alexandria. We visited various tombs, pyramids, temples and heritage sites in every place.
Highlight: The Pyramids in Cairo, Nefertari’s Tomb in the Valley of the Queens and the Red Sea in Sharm el Sheikh were the highlights. Mere words cannot do justice to the grandeur of the pyramids. It was awe-inspiring.
“I have always been fascinated by the amazing history of Egypt. So I have to say this is one item off my bucket list.”
Food: I fell in love with Egyptian food. Especially this dish called Koushary which is a mix of lentils, rice, spaghetti and pasta with chickpeas – talk about getting everything on a plate! Plus ordering hummus and pita bread was a must. My family is vegetarian and felt the fare was delicious.
