Actor Saif Ali Khan has got back the ancestral Pataudi Palace from Neemrana Hotels by paying back the lease amount. The Palace was built by his grandfather for his grandmother and is about 100 years old. Both his grandparents are buried there. He said that the palace had a lot of sentimental value for the family.
His father had leased out a portion of it to Neemrana Hotels. They took good care of the property and were like family. His mother Sharmila Tagore has a cottage in the property and she is very comfortable in it. Saif said that after his father’s death, he cleared the amount and took back possession of the Palace. He now rents out portions of the property for film shoots.
