The Family Cheese & Delhi 2 Dublin to play at The Humming Tree. The Family Cheese is a Progressive-Carnatic-Rock Band that moved to Mumbai from Chennai in 2012 and has since been making quite a name for themselves in the independent music circuit all over India. The band plays a very specific and unique blend of fusion that encompasses a diverse range of influences from both the east and west with a strong preference towards the south-Indian. Carnatic music is known for both its ancient swaras while providing space for the musicians to communicate and improvise.
Delhi 2 Dublin is a hybrid live/ electronic act whose concerts have been likened to ’90 minutes of freebasing joy’. Famous for their energy onstage the crew has played over 100 shows a year for the last decade at festivals like Electric Forest (USA), Woodford Folk (Australia) and Bali Spirit Festival (Indonesia). Connecting roots to future, D2D features a heavy electronic backbone with live traditional Indian instruments (dhol, tabla), fiddle, electric guitar, and the stunning punjabi-english vocals of frontman Sanjay Seran.
