Textile Tales explores the world of India’s diverse and celebrated surface detail techniques on different weaves like batik, ajrakh, kalamkari, hand blocks, pipli appliqué, embroidery, doriwork, ariwork, zardosi, patti ka kaam, kantha. Rema’s collections this festive season is a happy fusion and coming together of different weaves and detailing, each creation speaking a narrative that is so unique and compelling. The handwoven saris in Andhra cotton, Chanderi, Maheshwari, Benares, Champa, Tussars come in all hues, creams, pastels, monochromes, indigos, earth, and the vibrant multicolored joyous shades; something for everyone.
Rema’s exclusive collection takes on a contemporary twist which speaks volumes of her love for lines and geometry. The light silk-cotton saris and dupattas with a generous sprinkling of butis woven in Varanasi in sophisticated, soft shades display formal elegance of the old world style. The woven Chanderi range in vibrant shades and broad zari borders could add a definite style statement to any bride’s trousseau. The woven Maheshwari with the trademark stripes and checks is pure drama.
