Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce in an LA court against her rapper husband Kanye West. She has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for filing the petition. She is also seeking joint custody of their four children- North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. The couple lived together for 7 years and were considered to be one of the most talked about couples in showbiz.
Both Kim and Kanye were famous before getting married and they leveraged their combined star power to reach new levels of wealth. According to Forbes magazine, Kanye is said to be a billionaire due to his massively successful fashion brand, Yeezy. Kim on the other hand is worth about 780 million dollars due to her cosmetics business KKW Beauty.
Rumours about their marriage reached fever pitch in January this year as both Kanye and Kim were staying separately. While Kanye had been living in his ranch in Wyoming, Kim was staying with their children in California. Kanye is said to be battling bipolar disorder. He publicly announced this in 2018 when he released his album. His decision to run for President in the US elections, brought a mix of bewilderment and scorn.
Kim has enlisted the services of lawyer Laura Wasser, who has sorted the divorces of many high- profile celebrities and has earned the title ‘disco queen’.
