Ravindra Jadeja has taken over as the new captain of Chennai Super Kings team. He will captain the side for the upcoming season of IPL.
Dhoni quit as the captain of Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday and brought the curtains down on a successful stint of captaincy. He handed over the reins to Ravindra Jadeja. Dhoni will however continue to represent the team. He continued to play in the Indian Premier League even after he announced his retirement from international cricket. His decision to hand over leadership to Jadeja did not come as a surprise and was expected by many.
Wishes have been pouring in for new captain Jadeja from CSK star Robin Uthappa, Dwayne Bravo, Suresh Raina and many others who wished him the best to carry forward the legacy of Dhoni and to help Chennai Super Kings to continue their successful run in the upcoming season of IPL.
