The BCCI is making plans to make Anil Kumble as Team India’s head coach after Ravi Shastri’s term as coach will end after the T20 World Cup.

Kumble was the coach for the Indian Team for a year between 2016 and 2017 when the Cricket Advisory Committee headed by Sachin Tendulkar, Laxman and Ganguly appointed him to the post. As he had a bitter fall-out with captain Virat Kohli, Kumble tendered his resignation after the Champions Trophy defeat against Pakistan.
Virat Kohli has announced that he will quit as T 20 captain after the World Cup. Kumble will remain to be the most likely choice for the BCCI though they may also approach Laxman who has been the mentor for the IPL’s Sunrisers Hyderabad.
For the BCCI, a reputed Indian coach will be the first choice and both Kumble and Laxman fit the bill as both have experience of 100 plus Test matches and coaching experience too.
